“Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”       I said, “Here I am. Send me.”        Isaiah 6:8  NLT

Bible Study – Desires of Your Heart

Warmup Question: Have you ever felt that you are all alone?

Holy Scripture

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4 NLT

Context of the Passage

If we take delight in the Lord, we can have what we want.

Consensus Meaning of the Passage

God wants and needs to touch and change our hearts. To have the creator of the universe, have such desire is the greatest honor that a human being can ever receive. He wants us to have the same heart and the same desires and interests and priorities that He has. Can you imagine having that type of relationship forever?

We will begin to see God for who He is really is. We will begin to understand what God wants to accomplish through us in the people’s lives around us. We will begin to see what else God is doing in the world. We will begin to see God’s perfect plan and purpose for us in His kingdom.

But, as always, the desire of God’s heart is for us to repent of our sin, place all of our faith in Jesus Christ, and receive Him as our Lord and Savior, plus commit to follow Him.
