“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?
And I said, Here am I, send me!” Isaiah 6:8 NIV
An Unbelieving World Needs to Hear Your Testimony
Before I prayed for Salvation, there was a time that I was ashamed to even say the name of Jesus to anyone else. I knew no Christians.
I came to an understanding. I was born into this fallen world because of Adam and Eve’s sin of disobedience in the garden of Eden. As punishment, God allowed death into paradise. Everyone is under the same sentence, especially me.
‘For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ Romans 6:23 NIV
Jesus conquered and death. Now, I can say that Jesus has given me everything, and He is everything to me. I have more Christian friends than can be counted. I am in the Body of Christ.
But, there is Good News!
‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.’ John 3:16-17 NIV
so loved. . . God’s love is so immense and good that mankind cannot imagine its depth and reality. The reality is that nothing is expected in return, it is freely given and never ends.
this world. . . Jesus came into this world just for me. He died in my place, so my sins would be forgiven.
He gave his one and only son. . .
whoever believes in him. . . God sees me as righteous because of his Son’s work on the cross. I have regained the relationship with God that Adam and Eve forfeited.
shall not perish. . .
but have eternal life. . .
Because of who I was and who I am now, specifically. . . .
I choose to have Jesus live through me. What does that mean? Well, nothing really changes, I am still me, except for my effort to live life in the right way (my eye are His eyes, my hands are His hands, my legs are His legs, my mind is His mind, my voice is His voice, everything I have is His) and to build upon my relationship with Him.
Pray this Right Prayer Now!
Billy Graham’s Salvation Prayer “Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.”
If you prayed this prayer just now, go to a Bible based church and declare yourself as a new believer. See if they have believers that will disciple you (help you grow into a Christ follower).
God has Done Everything for Us, so, Become a Living Sacrifice for Him
The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 12:1 NIV “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Tell Unbelievers What God has Done for You!
After Jesus casts out demons from a man in Gadarenes, He commanded him in Luke 8:39 NIV, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
After Jesus encountered the woman at the well, she testified to an entire town in John 4:39 NIV “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony. He told me everything I ever did.”
Be an ambassador for Jesus Every Day!
Here are we, Lord. Send us! . . . to the grocery store or to the post office or to at the shopping mall to be like Jesus. A warm smile and courtesy to others will separate you from so many others. Add to the above, “Have a Blessed day”.
Here are we, Lord. Send us! . . . to greet and bless passers-by with a “God Bless You”. To someone who may be in pain, to a patient in a nursing home, to anyone you encounter after service has been given you in a retail setting; you get the idea. God may have made their hearts ready to hear and accept the Gospel of Truth.
Here are we. Send us! . . . everywhere. When the opportunity or the motivation arises, tell someone how Jesus has impacted your life
Testify in passing: A friend comes walking my way and asks, “How are ya doing? My answer in the past probably would have been something like: “Fine thanks, how about you?”
A bolder reply should be something like: “Thanks for asking, I’m well enough to serve my Lord.” or “It’s a beautiful day, even though I don’t deserve it.” or you get the idea.
Be sensitive to their reaction. Read his or her receptiveness to further discussion on the topic. Be ready to continue with whatever they may be ready to hear. Maybe something like this: “You, know, even though we don’t deserve it, we have been blessed with this beautiful day.”
See if they respond and engage in friendly conversation. A question may surface on their part. You never know until you try. Let God take it from there. He will prepare their heart according to His will.
Testify by going deeper: Have a deeper version of your testimony, always ready with facts about how God has changed you into a better person. Use all the time that has been given to you, but don’t make the pilgrim flee. Again, God will prepare his or her heart according to His will.
SendUsLord implores every reader to “dive deeper” into God’s Word as a life-long goal. Spiritual maturity is the reward.
Are you ready to go and tell God’s story to an unbelieving world?
