Isaiah 6:8 NLT Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”

Tell a Newborn Believer – About Blessings from Jesus to the Elect

Comments by gotquestions.org

   * The Bible says that in our natural sinful state, we are enemies of God. And, only God can prepare a heart to accept Jesus Christ.

‘For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life.’     Romans 5:10 NIV

   * When we have heard the Word of truth and accept his son’s sacrifice, our sins are forgiven, and we are righteous before God.

‘God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteous in God.’   2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

   * A Divine Exchange takes place at the foot of the cross; our old sin nature for His perfect new one, a gift which cannot be earned.

‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!’   2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

Spiritual Blessings from the Son

Ephesians 1:3 NIV Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing.

Ephesians 1:7-12 NIV composed by God and penned by the Apostle Paul, is the equivalent of only one Greek language sentence. Ephesians 1:15-22 finishes the chapter.

This chapter’s impact and meaning cannot be overstated. God promises that these Spiritual Blessings be given to believers who are, Followers of Christ, instantly at the time of redemption.

7 ‘In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.’

11 ‘In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.’

Did You Know About?  Blessings from the Son to the Followers of Christ

1. Did you know that we have redemption through his blood? We were born into a fallen world. Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the garden were the wages of sin, a death sentence for us. But, Jesus paid the ultimate price by taking our place on a cross. Our sin and shame became his sin and shame. His blood sacrifice brought us back into a right relationship with God so we can become Followers of Christ. From verse 7.

2. Did you know that we have forgiveness of sins? How many times have we turned our back on God and consciously disobeyed his commands. And, yet, he still sees us as Righteous Followers of His Son. Jesus knows the sins that we all have committed, past, present, and future, and he still forgives them. From verse 7.

3. Did you know that we have been given undeserved favor, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace? As Followers of Christ, we receive an unmeasurable amount of Grace. We are incapable of even knowing how much. It flows like the mightiest river, showering us with love and mercy, and it never ends. From verse 7-8.

4. Did you know that God has made known to us the mystery of His will? He does this, in order for the Followers of Christ to be fully aware of his final solution. Christ is the answer to every aspect of every human condition. In a sinful world, bad things happen to good people. From verse 9.

5. Did you know that by being a Follower of Christ, we are predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will (our eternal inheritance)? In Revelation, God says he will wipe away every tear from our eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, the former things have passed away. From verse 11.

A Lesson Learned?

When we give our testimonies, we should always be sure to tell a new or unbeliever of the above blessings that are completely undeserved, yet have been given to us. All we have to do is to be Followers of Christ and accept them.

To be a Follower of Christ means the Father has accepted Christ’s sacrifice as payment for our sin (Justification). Our rap sheets contained every sinful thought, attitude or action we have ever committed. No amount of self-cleansing could have made us pure enough to warrant forgiveness and a relationship with a holy God. Because God cannot look upon sin.
